Civico Museo Setificio Monti

From the 16th century onwards, the Lombardy region experienced a growing number of activities related to silk: silkworm breeding, cocoon spinning, twisting, and weaving. On the Lecco branch of Lake Como.

In Abbadia Lariana, a throwing mill awaits you, preserved as it was in the mid-19th century and transformed into a museum.

Restored and enriched with contemporary materials from other now-disappeared spinning mills, since 1998 it has become the Civico Museo Setificio Monti.
